ABOUT US

Toxic Thrilz is the first festival-wear clothing store to sell online since 2007. We have been vending our original in-house designs at festivals since 2005. The company grew from an inventory warehouse to its first boutique in 2011. Although the designs have changed, the ideology of party clothes made in the USA has stayed the same.

With fundamental beliefs in human rights and equality, the brand has focused on its integrity to the party people and the designers it represents. We look forward to helping you evolve your radical self expression for your next event.

Styling available in-store, via phone or email.

Our History

2005-2010 Nera Laurel designed a belly dance inspired collection that opened the door to become a vendor to festivals all around the world. Firefly Style label has been seen at festivals in Tokyo, Portugal, London, Paris, Thailand, and all over US and Canadian events, such as Tribal Fest, Health and Harmony, The Edge, and Lightning in a Bottle.

2006 The first ever festival apparel website in history launched as fireflystyle.com. Nera continued to design collections for Firefly and released them online, sold them at festivals and to the many retail stores that she had established relations with through her travels.

2011 The first retail store was opened under the name of Gypsy Streetwear in San Francisco’s historic Haight Ashbury district. The renowned artist, Shrine, was enlisted to paint the exterior of the store.

2012-2020 The Austin location was opened as well as a second store on Haight, which also featured a Shrine exterior. A spin-off store of Gypsy Streetwear for mens was established in New York City. The Haight Street store featured in the 2017 TV show “Girlboss”, artist renderings, and other photographs for its charm and preservation of the hippie culture area.

2020 All locations were closed and a new, large shop debuted in August of 2020 as Toxic Thrilz. Toxic Thrilz premiered to a modest crowd of consistent Firefly Style customers. Though there were no raves or festivals during the pandemic, patrons continued to buy from and support the label. As events start to open up again, the popularity of Toxic Thrilz will grow faster for a new generation to discover.
